Mean ,Median and Mode the easy way

What is Mean Median and Mode?

Mean, Median and Mode is one of the most used and popular concepts in Statistics which helps us in our Data science Journey as well.

Let’s start Understanding this concept with an easy Example.

A Surprise Mathematics test was held for 7th standard in EduPrime School and students scored Following Marks:

1)Abhishek :-12

2)Abhay:-10

3)Kajal :-19

4)Piyush:-15

5)Rehan:-13

6)Rahul-15

7) Yaschica:-16

8)Yashraj:-3

9)Zaira-20

10)Zain-5

Now we are supposed to Calculate Mean Median and Mode.

Let’s Calculate Mean first, Mean is nothing but our Average that is

Mean of Marks =Sum of Marks obtained by Students/Number of Students

=12+10+19+15+13+15+16+3+20+5

Number of Students 10

= 128/10=12.8

Yay our Mean is 12.8

Median :Now comes the Median for Median firstly we need to sort the Marks in Ascending Order :-

3,5,10,12,13,15,15,16,19,20

Now we Find the Middle Number that will be our Median there will be two approaches for that for Even Number Add Two Middle Numbers and Divide them by two .

13+15=28

28/2=14

Yay Our Median is 14

*For odd numbers Just choose the Middle one

Now the Simplest one is Mode, it is nothing but our Most Repeated Number or in our case Most Repeated Marks obtained by students.

3,5,10,12,13,15,15,16,19,20

Cleary 15 is most Repeated number among all therefore 15 will be our Mode.

Yay our Mode is 15
